Yourself a Performance Review
The beginning of the year is a natural time to think about what you want at work. It’s also an excellent time to step back and evaluate your performance to date against the criteria your company uses in performance reviews. Doing so now gives you time to correct any misperceptions, increase your skill set, and make your team healthier (assuming your company review cycle doesn’t fall in January!). Be as objective as possible. Gather informal feedback from those you interact with most often. Make it easy for the other person to respond by being specific in your request.
