No, I’m not asking about your home security service. Psychiatrist and best-selling author Dr. Edward Hallowell coined the term attention deficit trait (ADT) to describe a neurological phenomenon that can seriously undermine gifted executives.
In the Harvard Business Review article, “Overloaded Circuits: Why
Smart People Underperform,” Dr. Hallowell writes, “ADT is now epidemic in
organizations. The core symptoms are distractibility, inner frenzy, and
impatience.
