Tolerations

While being tolerant is often a very good quality, tolerating what isn’t working for you can be a major drain on your energy and time. Tolerations are things you put up with in your life and are not happy about, whether in your job, your environment, your relationships, or yourself.

Tolerations are often not obvious and are easy to dismiss as minor annoyances. However, they can weigh on your mind and make it difficult to focus because you never address them. They may not be vital or pressing concerns, but they are often important areas where you end up settling for something less than you want. You can become so used to the way things are that you choose to maintain the status quo because it seems easier. You keep the okay job instead of looking for a better one, you ignore small violations of your boundaries, and you work around people you just don’t want to take the time to deal with.
