Question: My teammate "hoards" work because she's concerned about keeping her job. But then her workload leaves her stressed and others underutilized. What can I do?

Before I answer your question I would caution you to be careful about assigning “reasons” to her behavior. When we witness behavior that appears irrational, the natural tendency is to create a “story” about why the behavior is occurring. While it may be that your teammate does, in fact, fear for her job, drawing this conclusion without knowing the whole situation can lead to even more misunderstandings.  read more
